What was that one that has the same tune as Looney Tunes song? Did they think we wouldn't notice it was the same song?

Last night I didn't go to the memorial. Would this be a red flag to the elders? I don't know what to expect from them but I thought I should expect something. My husband Drew Sagan and I had an elder's visit last summer (maybe August?) where we basicly told them that their religion is stupid and wrong for 3 hours. We never heard another word from either one of them ever again. At that time I was still attending meetings regularly, then in November and December I hardly went to any meetings at all because I was very busy with work. The last meeting I went to was in December. Drew hasn't been to any since October. Apparently a different elder has been showing up at our house when we are not home and he finally caught up with us last Sunday to invite us to the memorial on the following day. Drew told him he wasn't going. Is it considered a hugh slap in their face if one does not attend the memorial? Do you think us not showing up will force the elders to make a move? Will they make a real effort to track us down? How would any of you former elders have reacted?

Urban Legends in the JWs
by Country Girl inwhat was your favorite urban legend whilst you were in the jws that you now know to be just a buncha hullaballoo?
my favorite one was when a child brought a smurf doll to the kingdom hall and that thing just got up and went screaming out of the kingdom hall on its' own two feet.
i cracked up on that one.. .

Badboy, I probably first heard that one about 5 years ago. It's not as popular as some of the other ones, perhaps because it is so vague but that's what makes it a good story.

I like the one about the couple that went on a cruise and met "a guy form the UN". They start witnessing to him and tell him how the governments are going to turn against religion and try to wipe them all out. Then the guy from the UN is like, woah, how did you find out about our secret plan. We have been planning to wipe out all religion really soon!

Do you think there will be a lot of folks who just won't understand the new arragement, still leaving them in laundromats, in not-at-homes and distributing them to their uninterested grandneices as they demand, "this is good information! People need to hear this!". I think so, for a while anyway. The WTS needs to look out for those wacky old ladies. Their most loyal followers could be their worst enemy!

How Far Up The "Ranks" Did You Go In The Organization?

I pioneered for 5 years and was MS-wife for a short time, maybe. Goofball elders were not sure if husband was MS or not. (Like, how does that even happen?)
Anyway this thread just shows how stupid the GB is for not letting women have privledges. They have tons of single "sisters" willing to work for them for nothing in return while they are living in next to poverty. Why not take advantage of that? I have known many single women pioneering thier hearts out, just dying for more responsibility and wishing to marry a CO so that they could advance in the ranks. Jehovah must not be blessing their efforts by sending them an independently wealthy, georgeous, spiritual giant to sweep them off their feet and into the new system - gotta pioneer harder.

How about during the noon break at the district convention, preferably right after the baptism. I think I have seen that at least three times.
